This building of over 100 years is an historic landmark in Adel and
Cook County. This location is our primary day to day office. We
still have visitations at this building upon a families request.
Our office is open monday thru friday from 9:00 AM to
5:00 PM and saturday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This location is
where we handle all vital information such as sending in
obituaries, filing of death certificates, insurance, social
security notification, veteran's benefits and many other request's
that relieve the families we serve of any burdens.
This old home was built in the early 1900's by the Juhan Family
where it served as a residence and boarding house. In the 1930's
Mr. A.D. Wiseman purchased this home transforming it into one of
the earliest funeral home's in the area.
Wiseman Funeral Home was moved from a small downtown location to
this building. It has been a funeral home ever since serving Cook
and surrounding counties. In 1972 Vernon A. "Pete" Boone purchased
this location from Mr. Thad Wiseman, son of A.D. Wiseman. Boone
Funeral Home, Inc. was relocated from west fourth street to this
location where it remains today.

This building serves as our Chapel Facility. This 7000 plus square
foot building has a large chapel, visitation rooms, private
conference room for funeral planning, a large casket display room,
foyer and office. A large parking area outside accommodates this
facility.
Pre-arrangements, funeral arrangements, visitations, funeral and
memorial services are held in this larger building. This building
has been a funeral home since approximately 1980.
