Mrs. Ada A. Horne, 82, of Adel, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.  She was born on September 9, 1936 in Adel.  Her parents were John "Johnny" Asa Ray, Sr. and Mattie Lee Henderson Ray.  She and her husband lived in Tampa, Florida most of their lives until moving back to Adel in 2006.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Adel.

Mrs. Horne is survived by her husband, Louie H. Horne of Adel; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jerry Glen Horne and Shannon Horn of King, North Carolina and Mark Horne of Tampa; four grandchildren; a brother, Paul Ray of Adel; and two sisters: Robbie Nell Dumas of Hahira, Georgia and Merle McGlocklin of Thomasville, Georgia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Horne; four brothers: Willie Ray, Lee Roy Ray, Jack Ray and John Ray Jr.; and one sister, Mattie Pearl Williams.

The funeral service took place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel) with Rev. Bill Marlette officiating.  Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.  Dale Horne, Kenny Cowart, Dusty Cowart, Eugene McKenny, Larry McKenny and Dan Williams served as pallbearers.  Special musical selections to be played at the service were "I Want to Stroll Over Heaven With You" and "Amazing Grace."  Condolences may be expressed to the family on the online guestbook at www.boonefunerals.com .  --Boone Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
