Mr. Allen Carter, 61, of Adel, Georgia, passed away Sunday January 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on September 3, 1955 in Jacksonville, Florida to Homer Columbus Carter and Ruby Lee Flowers Carter. He lived most of his life in Cook County and was a custom welder in which he owned and operated his own business.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Pamma Carter of Adel; two sons: Jimmy Carter of Ellenton, Georgia and Troy Smith of Adel; four daughters: Melinda Carter, Tara Carter, Stephanie Connell and Amber Croft, all of Adel; twenty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Carter of Adel. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lee Woodard.

The Carter family received friends Wednesday evening, January 18, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. The funeral service took place Thursday January 19, 2017 at 11 AM at Springhead Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Springhead Church Cemetery. Special selections to be played at the service were: "Precious Memories", "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
