Mrs. Ava N. Gibbs, 79, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away on November 8, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Gibbs was born July 11, 1940, in Berrien County to the late Ervin Dallas Broome and Ruby Lee Pearson Broome.  She lived most of her life in Cook County and attended Heritage Church in Moultrie, Georgia.  Mrs. Gibbs was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Travis Gibbs of Valdosta, Georgia; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Theresa and Joey Landress of Sparks, Tina Gibbs of Sparks, Lisa and Sam Smith of Adel, Georgia; three grandchildren: Lindsey and Kevin Sprague of Norcross, Georgia, Taelyn and Brittney Gibbs of Hahira, Georgia and Haiden DelaCruz of Sparks.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Chester Gibbs; one daughter, Brenda "Sissy" Gibbs; two brothers, Billy Broome and Dallas "Buddy" Broome; and one sister, Lea Gibbs.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 10, 2019, in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home South.  Mr. LaRan Wilkerson officiated and Mrs. Gibbs's granddaughter, Lindsey Sprague, provided the eulogy; the graveside eulogy was given by Kevin Sprague.  Interment followed at the Brushy Creek Church Cemetery.  Visitation was from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home on the day of the service.  Pallbearers were Travis Gibbs, Haiden DelaCruz, Taelyn Gibbs, Joey Landress, Kevin Sprague and Sam Smith.  Special selections played at the service were "Blessed Assurance" by Alan Jackson, "Rainbow" by Kacey Musgraves, "Flawless" by Mercy Me and "Amazing Grace by Aaron Neville.
