Barbara Ann (Bobbie) Burch Tyson, age 76, of Orangeburg, SC (formerly of Adel, GA) passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 following a brief illness. Bobbie was born on August 23, 1947 to loving parents Johnny and Arnita Burch. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Brett Reddick, her brother, Raymond Burch, and her husband, Edward Tyson.
Bobbie is survived by her loving sons: Byron (Charlotte) Lynn of Murfreesboro, TN, and Coleman Lynn of Valdosta, GA, and two grandchildren: Jackson and Emme Lynn. She is also survived by her sisters: Beverly (Harold) Reddick of Valdosta, GA and Annette Lanier of Lake Park, GA, as well as her sister-in-law, Beverly (Raymond) Burch of Warwick, GA, along with her nephews and nieces: Diane Reddick (spouse of Brett Reddick), Niles (Michelle) Reddick, Dana (Don) Hutchinson, Jared (Sherry) Reddick, Joe (Tammy) Burch, Paula (Allen) Tison, Rachel (Wendell) Tillman, Suzanne (Ted) Thongbai, Dustin Hunter, Leah (Buck) Nelson as well as many great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Bobbie was raised in Valdosta, GA and graduated from Valdosta High School in 1965. She raised her family in Adel, GA and was very active with caring for both immediate and extended family, as well as being involved in her community with several clubs and projects. She also volunteered with both her church and with the Red Cross. Once her sons were grown, she pursued her cosmetology license from Valdosta Tech where she graduated with honors. She worked as a stylist until she moved to South Carolina upon retirement. She loved working with flowers in her garden and had a unique talent for cultivating beautiful pansies. She loved enjoying outside, especially fishing and spending time on the lake. She had joy in living, loved to visit with people and was always ready to go somewhere with friends and family.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Boone Funeral Home located at 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel, GA. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Boone Funeral Home following the visitation with Rev. Doug Tolson officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Adel Wesleyan Church (214 S. Hutchinson Ave. Adel, GA 31620 https://www.adelumcga.org/ ).
