Mrs. Belle Smith Rountree, 94, of Adel, Georgia, passed away at her residence on October 22, 2021.  She was born in Tift County to the late James Austin Smith, Sr. and Janie Otwell Smith.  Mrs. Rountree lived most of her life in Cook County and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edsel Rountree and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Rountree is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: Chip Rountree, Jimmy and Diane Rountree, all of Adel; three daughters and sons-in-law: Nell and Larry Moore, Monese and Scotty Whitaker, all of Adel, Linda and Robert Strickland of Lake Park, Georgia; nine grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  A special thanks to the late Betty Weeks, other caregivers and Regency Southern Care Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Brannon officiating.  Interment will follow at the Rountree Cemetery located at Evergreen Baptist Church.  Special music for the service will include "In the Sweet By and By" and "Roses Will Bloom Again."  Bo Rountree, Luke Rountree, John Whitaker, Jonathan Moore, Eli Rountree, Hart Griffin, Laura Griffin and Rebecca Phillips will serve as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held at Evergreen Baptist Church one hour prior to the service.
