Mrs. Bettie Jean Ward Tyson, 72, of Adel, Georgia passed away October 20, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. She was born July 29, 1943 in Adel to her late parents, Thomas Preston Ward and Lois Lona Smith Ward Stone. She was a life-long resident of Cook County and was retired from Tiffany Athletic Wear as a seamstress and also worked for several years as a Certified Medical Assistant with Dr. Prem Kumar's office. She was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tyson is survived by her loving husband, Carlton L. Tyson, Sr. of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Willie E. Baldree, Jr. and Sherry of Manassas, Virginia, and Carlton L. Tyson, Jr. and Linda of De Berry, Texas; and a grandson, Willie E. Baldree, III, of Manassas, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Ward and Aubrey Ward; and a sister, Janice Green.

The family received friends Thursday evening October 22, 2015 from 6 until 7:30 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. The funeral service was held Friday October 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Parker officiating. Interment followed at Brushy Creek Church Cemetery in Cook County. Special selections played at the service were "Amazing Grace" and "Lord, I'm Coming Home". Bo Holder, Paul Green, Chad Ward, Mike Corbin, Tommy Hester and Lanis Hamner served as pallbearers.
