Mrs. Betty Hart Brevig, 77, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away October 29, 2014 at Berrien Campus of South Georgia Medical Center in Nashville, Georgia. She was born July 15, 1937 in Colquitt County to the late Homer Preston Hart and Carrie Belle Croft Hart. She was a member of Sparks Baptist Church, served her family as a homemaker, and she lived most of her life in Cook County.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Carl and Debbie Martin, and Marcus Brevig, all of Sparks; and one daughter, Cathy Martin Jenkinson of Valdosta, Georgia; four grandchildren: Christa Martin, Marie and Leroy Griffin, Willis and Angel Martin, all of Sparks, and Kimberly and Everett Spencer of Port Arthur, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Preston and Chris Hart of Warner Robins, Georgia; and three sisters: Grace Hargraves of Ellenton, Georgia, Linda Kimbrell of Norman Park, Georgia, and Mary Tillman of Nashville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lewis Brevig; a brother, Ira Hart, and a siter, Juanita Formby.
The family received friends Thursday October 30, 2014 from 6 until 8 pm at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service was conducted Friday October 31, 2014 at 11 am in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment followed at Sparks City Cemetery. Leroy Griffin, Willis Martin, David Aries, Billy Griffin, Jamie Gray and Robert Giddens served as pallbearers. Special selections played at the service were " I Can Only Imagine","I Can't Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand," " He Lives", "Victory in Jesus,""Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace."
