Mrs. Beverly Alley, 89 of Adel, Georgia passed away on August 7, 2026 at her residence. She was born on November 7, 1936 in Adel, Georgia to the late Wilburn Lee Lawrence and the late Gladys Bessie Phillips Cato. Mrs. Alley lived most of her life in Cook County and was retired from the Adel Banking Company after 45 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adel.
Mrs. Alley is survived by her husband, Ray Alley of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Brian and Rhonda Alley of Hahira, Georgia, and Cam and Lori Alley of Lake Park, Georgia; one daughter, Wendy Alley Cornelius of Hahira; ten grandchildren: Chad Cowart of Valdosta, Georgia, Torie and Jess Permenter of Adel, Brandon Cowart; Charlie Cornelius, Kristen and Robie Medlin, Thomas Cornelius, and Alisa Cornelius, all of Hahira, Carlie Wayne of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Casey and Jordan Greene of Valdosta, and C.J. Alley of Lake Park; ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her sister, Toni Bloser of Statesboro, Georgia; and her step-brother, Wayne Cato of Matthews, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Clyde Leroy "Buck" Cato; step-brother, Terrell Cato; and step-sister, Faye Reeves.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Adel with Rev. Mike Broadwater and Rev. Ben Smith officiating. A eulogy will be given by her husband, Mr. Ray Alley. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Brandon Cowart, Charlie Cornelius, C.J. Alley, Jess Permenter, Jake Permenter and Wade Alley will serve as active pallbearers. Candler Bennett, Don Huckaby, Jamie Allen, Kerry Epps, Bill Bloser, Doug Alley and Leon Scruggs will serve as honorary pallbearers. Dr. Mary Sue Ward and Tim Fausett will perform "Because He Lives" and Sheila Humber will play piano.
