Mrs. Blondean Jones Lawler, 79, of Adel, passed away on August 8, 2019 at Cook Senior Living Center in Adel. She was born in Lenox, Georgia, on May 20, 1940. Her parents were Roy Edward Jones and Lurene Sowell Jones. She was a lifelong resident of Cook County where she was a member of Adel Assembly of God and worked as a homemaker.
Mrs. Lawler is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Joe Lawler, of Adel; two sons: Ricky Lawler and his wife, Brenda, of Tifton,Georgia; Kirk Lawler and his fiancee, Janet James Davis of Jacksonville, Florida, and four grandchildren and their spouses: Jay and Ryan Lawler of Atlanta, Georgia, Rachel Lawler Davis and Craig Davis of Dublin, California, Amanda Lawler Holt and Brad Holt of Tifton, and Christa Lawler of Spartanburg, South Carolina; four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Louise Jones of Lenox; a sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Raymond Stone of Tifton; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Jones of Lenox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dwaine Jones and Jimmy Jones, and two sisters, Jackie Taylor and Patricia Jones.
The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2019 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Gary James officiating and eulogy given by Kirk Lawler. Interment followed at Lenox City Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Kirk Lawler, Ricky Lawler, Jay Lawler, Steve Jones, Jeffrey Jones and Keith Stone served as pallbearers. Deborah Redlinger, Steve Jones and Jeffrey Jones sang "Amazing Grace;" Steve Jones also accompanied on guitar; other special music selections played at the service were "When I Get Where I'm Going" and "Celebrate Me Home."
