MSGT Bobby "Bob" Davis Greer (Ret.), 77, of Adel, Georgia went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep at his home on June 26, 2018.  He was born on November 28, 1940 in Beeville, Texas to the late George L. and Lucy Iun Dingler Greer.  He lived in Martinez, Georgia for the last 20 years before moving to Adel last November.  MSGT Greer was a member of The First Assembly of God in Augusta, Georgia and since moving to Adel has attended the Adel First Assembly.  He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant and later retired from Federal Aviation Administration.  He was also an ordained minister and author of two Christian novels.  He will always be remembered as a caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

MSGT Greer is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Roxy Greer of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sandie and Dale Delk of Valdosta, Georgia, and Deborah and Craig Williams of Dearing, Georgia; six grandchildren: Stephen and Suzanne Delk of Adel, Cristal and Jamie Martinez of Martinez, Brittany and Michael Thompson of Martinez, Christie Williams Myers and Scott Myers of Alpharetta, Georgia, Noah Greer and Garrett Greer, both of Jacksonville, Florida; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Greer of Mesquite, Texas; and a sister, Joyce Tate of Arlington, Texas.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Vivian Carol Agnew Greer; and two brothers, John Greer and Bud Greer.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 4:00 PM at the Adel First Assembly with Rev. Eric Gordon and Rev. Baxter Stanley officiating.  The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.  Rev. Stanley played piano and sang "Until The" and led the congregation in the singing of "Amazing Grace; he was also joined by Paige Gordon in the singing of "Because He Lives."  Interment with full military honors took place at 11:30 AM on Monday, July 2, 2018 in Canton, Georgia, at the Georgia National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a charitable donation be made to Teen Challenge USA.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com .  --Boone Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
