Mr. Bobby Wayne Tomlinson, Sr., 66, of Adel, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center Berrien Campus in Nashville.  He was born on March 24, 1952 in Adel to the late Ed Buck Tomlinson and Cora Mae Browning Tomlinson.  Mr. Tomlinson lived in Cook County all of his life; he was of the Baptist Faith, a retired industrial mechanic for Nashville Mills and a farmer.

Mr. Tomlinson is survived by his wife, Debbie Johnson Tomlinson of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Brett and Whitney Tomlinson of Tifton, Georgia, Bob and Heather Tomlinson of Adel; six grandchildren: Brooke Tomlinson, Tyler Tomlinson, Carson Tomlinson, Hannah Tomlinson, Brody Tomlinson and Marley Tomlinson; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Arlee Tomlinson of Hilliard, Florida; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Versie Spell, Carolyn Tomlinson, Sue and Charles Walker, all of Adel, and Linda and Ray Walker of Greenville, South Carolina; and a sister-in-law, Doris Tomlinson of Nashville, Georgia.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Tomlinson.

The family received friends Wednesday evening, May 9, 2018 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South.  The funeral service was held Thursday, May 10 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating.  Interment followed at Sparks City Cemetery.  Junior Bennett, Ronnie Bennett, Jerry Morey, Kenny Morey, Dewade Bostic and Charles Forte served as active pallbearers.  Derrell Bryan, Landry Kelley, Ernest Browning, Alan Phelps, Tommy Hester, Robert Griner and Jackson Mixon served as honorary pallbearers.  Carol Hewett played piano and the group consisting of Sherrell Luke, Dawn Boone, Wayne Taunton, Jerry Morey, Cotton Hewett and Johnny Hendley sang "Surely the Presence," "Beulah Land" and "Come Morning."
