Mr. Candler Bennett, Sr., 82, of Adel, Georgia passed away June 6, 2015 at the Cook Living Center of Adel. Mr. Bennett was born May 15, 1933 in Decatur County, Georgia to the late Homer and Gussie Boyette Bennett. He has lived most of his life in Cook County and had retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Bennett was of the Baptist faith and served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Candler, Jr. and Sonja Bennett of Cecil, Georgia; his grandchildren: Candler Bennett, III of Americus, Georgia; Mackenzie Bennett of Adel, Christopher Allen Bennett of Hahira, Georgia; one brother, Wayne Bennett of Adel; two sisters: Edith Fields and Jackie Coombs both from Cecil, Georgia. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by two sons: Richard Allen Bennett and Ricky Myers.

Funeral services took place on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. James Rice officiating. A Graveside Service were held at 3:00 PM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax, Georgia where interment followed.
