Mrs. Carrie L. Barker, 88, of Lake City, Florida, formerly of Hahira, Georgia, passed away on January 7. 2022 at St. Vincent's Riverside Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.  She was born in Dowling Park, Florida on February 15, 1933 to the late Hansel DeLoach "Loach" Sapp and Bertha Carrie Pert Sapp.  Mrs. Barker lived most of her life in Lake City, Florida and Hahira, Georgia.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Hahira Baptist Church.

Mrs. Barker is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law: Wilbur Barker of Lake City, Florida, Larry and Liz Barker of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Darrell Barker of Worthington Springs, Florida, Marty and Deborah Barker of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Carrie Jean and Tony Key of Acworth, Georgia; 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2022  in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Barker officiating.  Interment followed at Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Cook County, Georgia.  Deborah Barker sang "No More Night" and "How Great Thou Art."  George Barker, Russell Barker, Dewayne Key, Timothy Key, Robbie Key and Brody Key served as pallbearers.  Visitation was conducted at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia) from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the graveside service.
