Mr. Charles Eugene "Gene" Williams, 89, of Adel, Georgia passed away on December 21, 2024 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.  Mr. Williams was born on September 8, 1935 in Lenox, Georgia to the late Leon Franklin Williams and the late Gladys Kinard Williams.  He was a member of the Adel First Baptist Church and was retired from the United States Post Office with over twenty-five years of service.  Mr. Williams also served in the United States Army.  He enjoyed fishing with his family and friends a Mexico Beach, Florida for many years.  He continually built projects and houses on his own and with various contractors in Valdosta, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cindy McIntyre Williams of Adel; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Todd Williams of Tifton, Thad and Andrea Williams of Port St. Joe, Florida; one daughter, Gina Williams of St. Augustine, Florida; two granddaughters, Lilli Williams and Ruby Williams of Port St. Joe, Florida; sister-in-law, Mona Faye Williams of Albany, Georgia; Special Friend, Monica Sullivan of St. Augustine, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Eugene Williams, Jr., and two brothers, Levere Williams and Leroy Williams.

A graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Neal Sweet and Rev Daniel Findley officiating.  Jeff Bulmer, Jerry Edwards, Royce Kendrick, Billy Crowley, Michael Folsom and Ron Lipsey served as pallbearers.  Rev. Daniel Findley also sang "Blessed Assurance" and "Just As I Am".

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to one of three charities: The Charlie Parrish Scholarship Fund; C/O Adel First Baptist Church (200 E. Fifth Street; Adel, Georgia 31620) or Community Christian Academy (1202 N. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel.
