Mr. Charles Peter "Pete" Farrell, 88, of Adel, Georgia passed away Monday March 20, 2017 at Legacy Park Regency Assisted Living in Moultrie, Georgia. He was born on September 14, 1928 in Stamford, Connecticut to his late parents, Peter Charles Farrell and Edna Mae Luker Farrell. He had lived in Cook County for the past 40 years and attended Gordon Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Farrell served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Farrell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sara Ann Clements Farrell of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sara and Bill Collins of Marco Island, Florida, and Sharlee and Harold Topper of Stamford, Connecticut; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Farrell of New Milford, Connecticut. In addition to his parents, Mr. Farrell was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Wade, and five siblings.
The funeral service for Mr. Farrell was held Saturday March 25, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home South (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel, GA 31620) with Mr. Ronnie Register officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the funeral service. Nancy Smith played "It Is Well With My Soul" and "America the Beautiful" on piano. Bill Collins, Harold Topper, Ronnie Register, Steve Perry and Manus Courtney served as pallbearers.
