Mrs. Christine Vann Geiger, 86, of Adel, Georgia, passed away March 2, 2015 at her home. She was born September 13, 1928 in Laurens County to her late parents, Herman Thomas Vann and Gladys Betsy Register Vann. She was raised in Wheeler County but lived most of her life in Cook County. She was the owner of Adel Auto Parts, a former member of the Adel Pilot Club, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adel.
Mrs. Geiger is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Geiger Garriga and David Garriga of Adel; two grandchildren: Jason Conley of Valdosta, and Lauren Geiger Patterson of Adel; three great-grandchildren: Corey Conley and Brandon Burton-Conley, both of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Ceanna Patterson of Adel; three sisters: Carolyn Roberson of Blountstown, Florida, Sue Hendrix of Panama City, Florida, and Anne Thompson of Mt. Vernon, Georgia; and a very special friend, Peggy Griffin Folsom of Adel. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Flournoy "J.F." Geiger, Jr.; two sons: Terry Conley and Rodney Geiger; a grandson, Kenneth Conley; two brothers: Russell Vann and Ertis Vann; and a sister, Pauline Butler.
The Geiger family received friends Sunday evening, May 3, 2015, from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of Adel with Rev. Dillard Ensley and Rev. Bill Marlette officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Jimmy Vann, Thomas Vann, Geiger Mercer, Kim Kimmons, Scott Butler, Leon Butler, and Ricky Pilcher served as pallbearers. Sheila Humber played piano; Steve Meders sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain"; the congregation sang "When We All Get to Heaven"; and the special selection, "Together Again" was played at the service.
