Mr. Claude Edward Stokes, 78, of Adel, Georgia, passed away September 29, 2016 at Tift Regional Medical Center ih Tifton, Georgia. He was born on March 17, 1938 in Macclenny, Florida to his late parents, Claude and Evelyn Pringle Stokes. He was a retired welder where he worked in the construction industry. He had been a resident of Cook County for the last 17 years.

Mr. Stokes is survived by his loving wife, Martha Stokes of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law: Tonyaa and Clarence Leist of Tampa, Florida and Bridgette and Jay Cooper of Valdosta, Georgia; and a sister, Jeanette Wilkerson. In Addition to his parents, Mr. Stokes was preceded in death by a sister, Lavon Wilkerson.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Stokes was cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor the life of Mr. Stokes.
