Mrs. Crystal Posey Carter, age 42, of Adel, Georgia passed away February 20, 2024 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.  She was born in Valdosta on May 29, 1981 to Keith Posey and the late Lorie Scarboro Apperson Moore.  Mrs. Carter lived all of her life in Cook County and was of the Baptist faith.  She worked as the bookkeeper for Carter Steel.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Stephen Carter of Adel; three sons: Austin Yawn and Andrew Yawn, both of Adel, and Aiden Wilcox of Dudley, Georgia; one daughter, Kylie Carter of Adel; her father and step-mother, Keith and Ruthanne Posey of Albany, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Rita Posey of Sparks, Georgia; step-brother, John Smith of Adel; aunt and uncle, Linda and Ray Rowan of Sparks.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. George Moxley officiating.  Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Boone Funeral Home.  Chris Posey, Cole Posey, Christian Posey, Parker Posey, Travis Yawn and Jimmy Lamb served as pallbearers.  "In Case You Didn't Know," "Millionaire" and "Amazing Grace" were played at the service.
