Mrs. Delores Mainor, 81, of Adel, passed away Thursday January 11, 2018 at her son's home in Hahira. She was born on December 14, 1936 in Berrien County to Alvin Jones Parrish and Mattie Mae Griffis Parrish. Mrs. Mainor lived most of her life in Cook County where she was a member of Springhead Baptist Church and a retired school bus driver for the Cook County School System.
Mrs. Mainor is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law: David and Donna Mainor, Billy and Lisa Mainor, Britt and Lora Mainor, all of Adel, and Brian Mainor of Hahira; a daughter and a son-in-law, Darlene and Timmy Norman of Moultrie; twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Mainor; five brothers: Lloyd Woodell Parrish, Paul Laverne Parrish, Carey Irman Parrish, Randall Thomas Parrish and Carlton Parrish; and three sisters: Dorothy L. Pilcher, Myrtle P. Metts and Lena Belle Resta.
The family received friends Saturday January 13, 2018 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South. The funeral service took place Sunday January 14, 2018 at 2 PM at Springhead Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Lisa Folsom played piano and sang "Surely the Presence" and the congregation sang "Amazing Grace." Thomas Mainor, Davis Mainor, Beau Daniel Sinclair, Blake Mainor, Brandon Mainor and Kirk Mainor served as pallbearers.
