Mrs. Donease Guthrie, 71, of Adel, Georgia passed away February 3, 2017 at her home. She was born July 31, 1945 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Joseph Wright Stone and Ruby Bell McNatt Stone. She has lived in Cook County the past 24 years. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

Mrs. Guthrie is survived by her life partner, Charles A. Flood, Jr. of Adel; four sons: Steven Darrell Guthrie of Adel, Curtis Lee Guthrie of Mims, Florida, Jason Ray Guthrie of Oak Hill, Florida and Austin Ray Guthrie of Adel; two brothers: Gene Stone of Alapaha, Georgia and Russell Stone of Scotsmore, Florida; one sister, Patricia Stamper of Titusville, Florida; and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

A Memorial Service was held at 11:00, Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel, Georgia. The family received friends prior to the service. Her ashes will be placed at the Wayfarer Church Cemetery in Echols County at a later time.
