Mrs. Doris Browning Swinson Garrison, 87, of Adel, Georgia, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at Cook Medical Center in Adel. She was born on January 28, 1929 in Brooks County to her late parents, Luke and Ethel Simmons Browning. She lived in Cook County most of her life and worked as a homemaker.

Mrs. Garrison is survived by her son, Wade Swinson of Adel; two daughters and a son-in-law: Judy and Junior Miley, and Thea Campbell, all of Adel; a brother, Wink Browning of Florida; three grandchildren: Selina Campbell Dales (Dwayne) of Tifton, Georgia, Shane Campbell of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Jason Griffis (Krissy) of Adel; a grandson-in-law, Keith Tyson of Adel; and five great-grandchildren: Korey Tyson, Kody Tyson, Johnna Dales, Cason Griffis and Josie Griffis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cordell "Rex" Garrison; a granddaughter, Letitia Griffis Tyson; two sons-in-law: John Campbell and Lytelle Griffis; a brother, Norman Browning; and four sisters: Dorothy Sellars, Frances Hunnicutt, Lucy Cooper and Dolly Swinson.

A graveside funeral service was held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Antioch Church Cemetery in Cook County with Bro. Nathan Browning officiating. Nathan and Marie Browning sang "I'll Fly Away". Jason Griffis, Cason Griffis, Shane Campbell, Korey Tyson, Kody Tyson and Dwayne Dales served as pallbearers.
