Mrs. Dorothy Louise "Dot" Scarboro 77, of Adel, Georgia passed away at her residence following a long illness. Mrs. Scarboro was born in Boon Hill, North Carolina on May 5, 1938 to the late James Melvin Radford, Sr. and Gladys Myra Kornegay Radford. She was a member of the Adel First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She had lived in Adel for the past 38 years.

Mrs. Scarboro is survived by her husband of 59 years, John F. Scarboro of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law: Lorie Apperson-Moore and Kenny Moore; Linda and Ray Rowan, all of Sparks, Georgia; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert "Bob" Earl Radford of Smithfield, North Carolina and James "Jimmy" Melvin Radford, Jr. of Greensboro, North Carolina; one sister Elizabeth "Libby" G. Hales of Goldsboro, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Kim Scarboro Thornton and her son-in-law, David Apperson.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Adel First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Marlett officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia. Mark Paige, Ryan Duren, Russell Brown, Bo Caldwell, Stan McDaniel and Doug Hanks served as active pallbearers; Ricky Stalvey, Forrest Caldwell, Dr. Jim Sellers, Paul Witherspoon, Ray Zglinicki and Charlie Bryant served as honorary pallbearers. Linda Rowan sang "A Room With a View" and the congregation sang "It Is Well With My Soul" under direction of Doug Stevens; Janie Stevens played the piano.
