Mr. Earl Cumbie, 73, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on July 9, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Cumbie was born on January 26, 1952, in Bradenton, Florida to the late Dallas Carlton Cumbie and the late Dora Lillie Tipper Cumbie. He lived in Riverdale, Georgia for approximately 19 years before moving to Adel and living here for the past 25 years. He was a retired truck driver and a retired police officer with the Riverdale Police Department. Mr. Cumbie was of the Baptist faith. He also served in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Cumbie is survived by his wife, Barbara Bruce Cumbie of Adel; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Nicole Cumbie of Thomasville, Georgia; one step-son, Jason Conley of Valdosta, Georgia; his three grandchildren: Eli Garver and Eva Garver, both Thomasville, and Olivia Conley of Valdosta; daughter-in-law, Betty Jean "B. J." Conley of Hahira, Georgia; one brother, Roger Cumbie of Bradenton, Florida and one sister, Gwen Buchanan of Orlando, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Kenneth Conley.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia) with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating and eulogy was given by Scott Cumbie . Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. Scott Cumbie, Roger Cumbie, Jason Conley, Stan Buchanan, Justin Conley, Corey Conley and Brandon Conley served as pallbearers. Visitation was held at Boone Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
