Mrs. Edna Gibbs, 79 of Sparks, Georgia passed away September 14, 2021 at the South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Gibbs was born October 19, 1941 in Cook County to the late William Lessie "Buck" Spires and Lillie Pearl Collins Spires. She lived all of her life in Cook County and was a member of the Brushy Creek Baptist Church and had retired from Metal Products.

Mrs. Gibbs is survived by her husband, Elmer "E.W." Gibbs; son and daughter-in-law, Duke and Penny Gibbs all of Sparks; daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Ronnie Hughes of Adel, Georgia; two grandsons and their wives, Jake and Haley Hughes of Fitzgerald, Georgia; Josh and Melanie Hughes of Hahira, Georgia and one great granddaughter, Lyla Hughes of Hahira; she was preceded in death by her parents and also one brother, Earl Spires and one sister, Evelyn Spires Myers.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 16. 2021 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Parker officiating.  Interment followed at the Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  La Ran Wilkerson, La Don Wilkerson, Jack Wilkerson, Ricky Gibbs, Travis Gibbs and Joey Landress served as pallbearers.  "I Saw the Light" was played at the service.  Visitation was conducted at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.boonefunerals.com.
