Mrs. Elizabeth Dukes Ferguson, 81 of Lake City, Florida passed away July 26, 2017 at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala, Florida. She was born December 17, 1935 in Cook County to the late Madison Holland Dukes and Florence Hall Dukes. Mrs. Ferguson lived in Florida for the past 52 years with the last 37 in Lake City. She attended the Ellisville Assembly of God Church and was retired from General Electric.
Mrs. Ferguson is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law: Ray and Cathy Lowery of Marlboro, Connecticut, Jimmy Lowery of Sparks, Georgia and Greg Lowery of Colton, California; two daughters: Gwen Lowery of Belleview, Florida and Jackie Stinson of Panama City, Florida;
three sisters: Eva Nell Jarvis of Sparks; Rose Rocheleau of Quitman, Georgia and Luella Weeks of Norman Park, Georgia; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. "Tommy" Ferguson; four sisters: Elsie Hall, Ethel Hall, Leila Kretlow and Bessie Stewart; and a brother, Horace Dukes.
Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home South 1804 in Adel, Georgia. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Smith and Rev. Sammy Bass officiating. Interment followed at the Buck Creek Church Cemetery in Colquitt County. Special musical selections played at the service were "Go Rest High on That Mountain," "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes and "Wings of a Dove." Condolences may be expressed online at www.boonefunerals.com.
