Mr. Elton "Skeeter" J. Bennett, 71, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on January 23, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven, Mississippi.  He was born on December 22, 1950, in Sparks, Georgia to the late Jerry Bennett, Jr. and Sally Ann (Southerland) Bennett.  Mr. Bennett lived in Valdosta, Georgia most of his life before spending the last two months in Southaven, Mississippi.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Felena Bennett of Perry, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Steven Newman of Southaven, Mississippi; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Nita Bennett of Norman Park, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Alice Bennett of Stockton, Georgia; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who all loved him dearly.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Ann (Wright) Bennett; and his brothers, Johnny L. Bennett, and Fred N. Bennett.

A memorial service for Mr. Bennett was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home located 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel, Georgia.  He was laid to rest at Sparks City Cemetery following the memorial service, however no formal services were held at the cemetery.
