Mr. Emitte O. Frost, 95, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on October 31, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Frost was born on June 11, 1925 in Vidalia, Georgia to the late John Freeman Frost and Essie Mae Thompson Frost. He has lived in Adel for the past 43 years. Mr. Frost retired from the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant where he served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He also was in the United States Army during World War II transferring from the Army Air Corps to the Air Force. Mr. Frost also retired from the City of Adel where he served as the Building Inspector and Fire Department Chief. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Elizabeth "Liz" Tapley Frost, and his granddaughter, Emiranda Frost.
Mr. Frost is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jim Van-Curen of Vacaville, California; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Emitte "Chip" and Francis Frost of Reno, Nevada, and Emory Frost of Adel; five grandchildren: Rachel Gamble of Virginia, Patrick Van-Curen of Vacaville, California, Leslie Frost of Reno, Nevada, Evan Frost of Sparks, Georgia and Danniell Frost of Reno, Nevada; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Earl Frost of Vidalia, Georgia.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex with full military honors. Evan Frost, Stanley Storey, Jerry Permenter, Randy Lane, Steve Lynn and Pat Mote served as pallbearers. Special music at the service included "A Mansion on the Hill," "This World Is Not My Home" and "Take My Hand Precious Lord." Visitation was conducted from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday evening, November 6, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel.
