Mrs. Essie G. Lindsey, 87 of Adel, Georgia passed away December 28, 2018 at the South Georgia Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1931 in Berrien County to the late Jackson Clayton Goff and Bessie Jane Blount Goff. Mrs. Lindsey lived all of her life in Cook County and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She was retired from the Cook Service Center after many years of loyal service.
Mrs. Lindsey is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Cindy Lindsey of Tifton, Georgia, Joel and Melissa Lindsey of Racine, Wisconsin; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Vicki and Mike Wilson of Adel, Jennifer and Derek Bondzeit of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Sarah Lindsey of Adel; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Patton "Red" Lindsey, and her daughter, Martha Lindsey.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 4, 2019 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating and Mr. Shane Lindsey providing the eulogy. Bo Schramm and Kimberly Wilson will sing "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain.;" Mrs. Wilson will also play piano. In keeping with Mrs. Lindsey's wishes she was cremated. Her ashes will be interred at a later date at the Woodlawn City Cemetery.
