Mrs. Estelle Thomas Ragland, 84, of Adel, Georgia, passed away October 8, 2015 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia. She was born in Cook County on September 25, 1931 to her late parents, Lonnie E. and Irma Moye Thomas. She was a life-long resident of Cook County where she was a member of First Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress and homemaker.
Mrs. Ragland is survived by her two sons and a daughter-in-law: Sonny Ragland, and Jerry and Karen Ragland, all of Adel; a daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and William Felts of Adel; seven grandchildren: Hank Griffin of Tallahassee, Florida, Nick Griffin, Michael Felts, Michelle Daughtrey, all of Adel, Chris Ragland of Moultrie, Georgia, Jenny Ragland of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and April Hansen of Panama City, Florida; and two sisters: Irma Lee Howell of Adel and Geneva Bradford of Tifton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland W. Ragland, Sr.; three brothers: James Thomas, Calvin Thomas and Wayne Thomas; and three sisters: Patricia Scarborough, Mildred Brady and Wynelle Folsom.
The funeral service was held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Dillard Ensley officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel. The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette sang "Amazing Grace" and Mrs. Boyette also played the piano. Hank Griffin, Nick Griffin, Michael Felts, Chris Ragland, Al Hansen, Tommy Daughtrey, James Ensley and Buddy McGill served as pallbearers.
