Mr. Eugene "Gene" Kent, 79, of Adel, Georgia, passed away June 5, 2015, at Golden Living Center in Tifton, Georgia, following a long illness. He was born November 12, 1935 in Berrien County to his late parents, Lossie Allen Kent and Pauline Sirmons Kent. He was a retired farmer and truck driver for Chaparral Boats. He lived most of his life in Berrien County until moving to Adel nine and a half years ago. Mr. Kent was a Baptist.

Mr. Kent is survived by his loving wife Peggy F. Kent of Adel; a son, Clark Kent of Adel; a granddaughter, Kristen Kent of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters: Shirley McCoy of Rincon, Georgia, and Elva Shaw of Nashville, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Wayne Faulkner of Adel; a sister in law, Gloria Belford of St. Augustine, Florida; special friends, Bobby and Vernell Plymel of Sparks, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Kent, and two sisters, Gail Kent Folsom and Jacqueline Kent Futch.

Funeral services took place on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Heath officiating. Special music played " Amazing Grace", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "Where We Never Grow Old". Pallbearers: Todd Heath, Flynt Powell, Bud Moore, Trevor Kent, Jay Harrell and Douglas Faulkner. Interment followed at Nashville Memorial Gardens in Nashville, Georgia.
