Obituary

Mrs. Faith A. Slaughter, 78, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.  The daughter of William Arthur Able and Cathryn Thompson Able, she was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 14, 1940.  Mrs. Slaughter lived the past 14 years in Cook County.  She was a Catholic and a homemaker.

Mrs. Slaughter is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Ronnie Shelton of Adel; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Ken Nance of Eugene, Oregon, and Kevin L. and Sue Nance of Ridgeville, South Carolina; and two grandchildren: Sylvia Nance of Walterboro, South Carolina, and Daniel Nance of Slidell, Louisiana.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Larry Nance, Jr. and her second husband, Charlie Slaughter.

The funeral service for Mrs. Slaughter was held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (2530 Garner Road; Ray City, Georgia 31645) with Deacon Steve Mancuso officiating.  Interment followed at Longbridge Church Cemetery in Berrien County.   Michael Stone, Greg Suggs, Tristen Suggs and Colton Suggs served as pallbearers.
