Rev. Franklin L. McDaniel, Sr., 83, of Hahira, Georgia, passed away on September 21, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Adel, Georgia on February 13, 1937, to the late Love and Mary Ruth Crosby McDaniel. Rev. McDaniel lived most of his life in Hahira and was a member of the Community Calvary Holiness Church in Cook County. He was a retired Vice President with the Bank of Lenox and a retired minister after serving over 50 years. He founded the Calvary Tabernacle Holiness Church in Valdosta, Georgia. His wife of 63 years, Joye Register McDaniel, preceded him in death on August 12, 2020.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Frankie and Sue McDaniel of Hahira; two daughters and one son-in-law: Tracey McDaniel of Hahira, Cindy and Tim Taylor of Valdosta; four grandchildren: Shanna and Scott Smith of Hahira, Frank McDaniel III of Hahira, Blake Taylor of Valdosta, Ansley and Nic Stagner of Hahira; five great grandchildren: Judson and Cayden McDaniel of Hahira, Kylie Taylor of Valdosta, Elisha and Michaela Smith of Hahira; one bother, Tyrone McDaniel of Adel; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Shirley Register of Hahira, Jeanette and Robert Parker of Morven, Georgia.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Cecil, Georgia with Rev. Freddie Stone officiating and Tim Taylor providing the eulogy. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Hollie Register sang ""I Can't Even Walk," Shanna Smith sang "I've Got More to Go to Heaven for Than I Had Yesterday" and the congregation sang "What a Day That Will Be." Scott Smith, Blake Taylor, Frank McDaniel III, Nic Stagner, Elisha Smith and Tim Taylor served as pallbearers. Visitation was conducted at the church one hour prior to the service.
