Mr. Gage Raper, 15, of Adel, Georgia, passed away March 29, 2015 in Cook County due to injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was born March 29, 2000 in Tifton, Georgia and lived all of his life in Adel where he was a student at Cook High School. He attended New Life Baptist Church and was a member of the Cook High School Band where he played baritone.
Mr. Raper is survived by his parents, Jamie and Michael Flanders of Adel; a brother, Colt Raper of Adel; maternal grandparents: James and Julia Lewis of Adel; grandmothers: Linda Miley of Adel and Mary Ruth Flanders of Sparks, Georgia; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Jessi Raper of Adel, Jaimee Flanders of Cecil, Georgia, and Jessi Flanders Mullis and Bryan Mullis of Tifton; aunts and uncles: Pat and Joy Weeks of Adel, Suzie and Bart Myers of Macon, Georgia, and Joanie and Tony McCranie of Sparks; nephew, Caiden Bullard of Cecil; niece, Raegen Mullis of Tifton; and cousins: Morgan Weeks, Blake Bullard, Cohen Bullard (all of Adel), and Jonathan McCranie of Norfolk, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnny Flanders; and an aunt, Peggy Lewis.
Mr. Raper's family will receive friends Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. The funeral service will take place Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Colt Raper, Taylor Sanders, Terry Speicher, James Groover, Trevor Sanders, Nick Morris, Dalton Yawn, Brody Yawn, and Jacob Morgan will serve as pallbearers; the Cook High School Band will serve as honorary pallbearers. Special selections to be played are "Go Rest High on That Mountain", "Drink a Beer", "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" and "For Him". In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Cook High School Marching Band in honor of Gage.
