Mrs. Grace Day, 85, of Adel, Georgia, passed away June 24, 2018 at the Magnolia Manor in Moultrie, Georgia. Mrs. Day was born March 31, 1933 in Cook County to the late Dover Aberdeen "D.A." and Ramie Knox Phillips. Mrs. Day lived most of her life in Cook County. She was an ordained evangelist with the Church of God and a homemaker.
Mrs. Day is survived by her husband, Charles Robert "Bob" Day, Sr. of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Selena Day of Hoschton, Georgia; Greg and Brook Day of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Hannah Day-Twitty and her husband, William Twitty, and Elizabeth Day, all of Adel, Jessica Day of Woodstock, Georgia, Zachary and Christina Day of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers: Wayde Phillips of Kentucky, Raymond Phillips of Albany, Georgia, Allen and Kelly Phillips of Ray City, Georgia; two sisters: Barbara P. Corbett of Moultrie, Georgia and Betty Scogna of Albany, Georgia. She was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Lou Rauback.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, June 26, 2018 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11 AM at Adel Church of God with Rev. Ashley Way and Rev. Keith Sanderlin officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkes Cemetery located on the grounds of Community Holiness Church in Cook County. Zachary Day, William Twitty, Justin Hodges, Dr. Billy Day, Allen Phillips and Buddy Day will serve as pallbearers. Greg Day will sing "Now She Knows" and Stan Shuman will sing "Home at Last."
