Mr. H.D. "Mickey" Eller, 86, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on February 25, 2019 at his home. He was born on January 15, 1933 in Arcadia, Florida. His parents were Dennis Lavender Eller and Ruby Jo Turner Eller. He lived 16 years in Mississippi before returning to Cook County in 1992. He was member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired jet engine mechanic after 37 years in the Civil Service; he also retired as a Chief Warrant Officer after 34 years of active and reserve service with the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Eller is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fay Daniel Eller of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Penni Eller of Adel, Matt and Marisa Eller of Crawford, Mississippi; a daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Mike Lindsey of Lenox, Georgia; five grandchildren and their spouses: Scott and Melanie Thompson of Adel, Kyle Eller of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Kaci and Bart Jackson of Sumrall, Mississippi, Jarrett Eller of Aberdeen, Mississippi and Colson Eller of Crawford, Mississippi; four great-grandchildren: A.J. Thompson of Adel, Cody Seale and Cade Seale, both of Crawford Mississippi, and John Eller Thompson of Adel; and one sister, Marya Dale Crowder of Valdosta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Haley Thompson Seal, and two sisters: Delano Davis and Sherry Hall.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Elder Thad Marshall and Elder Tony Marshall officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening, February 26, 2019. Pallbearers were grandsons: Scott Thompson, Kyle Eller, Jarrett Eller, Colson Eller, A. J. Thompson and Drevin Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers were the great-grandsons: John Eller Thompson, Cody Seal and Cade Seale. Elder Dwight Marshall led the congregation in "Amazing Grace" and the special selection "Take Me Home, Country Road" was played.
