Obituary

Mrs. Haley Carter Smith, 34, of St. Mary's, Georgia, formerly of Adel, Georgia, passed away July 25, 2016 at her residence. She was born May 25, 1982 in Vidalia, Georgia to Robert O. Carter and Robin Travis Carter. She lived most of her life in Cook County and was of the Methodist faith. She was a homemaker and mother.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Buddy Crumbley and Tristen Carter, both of St. Mary's; her daughter, Chloe Crumbley of Wilmington, Ohio; her husband, Lucas Smith of St. Mary's; her mother and mother's fiance, Robin Carter and Rob Stevens of Wilmington, Ohio; her father and step-mother, Bobby and Connie Carter of Ailey, Georgia; two brothers, Eric and Chris Norton of Adel; a sister, Olivia Carter of Wilmington, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Richard and Loretta Travis of Thomasville, Georgia; step-brother, Kevin Harper of Baxley, Georgia; step-sister, Stephanie Horton of Vidalia; Step-Grandfather, Ray McDaniel of Vidalia; special friends, Hannah Hancock and David Van Brackle. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Pearl and Ralph Beauchamp; her paternal grandparents, Delores "Bill" and Johnny Clyde Carter; and an uncle, Steven Carter.

Mrs. Smith's family received friends Thursday evening July 28, 2016 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home. The funeral service took place in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11 AM with Rev. Chris Newbern officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Georgia. Josh Croft, Robert Villnave, Paul Travis, Richard Travis, Jeffrey Travis, Joshua Travis and Buck Harper served as pallbearers. "Amazing Grace", "Dancing in the Sky", "Go Rest High on that Mountain" and "Sissy's Song" were special selections played at the service and graveside.
