Mr. Harry VanBrackle, Jr., 84, of Lenox, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He was born February 2, 1931 in Cook County to his late parents, Alpha Harris VanBrackle, Sr. and Grace Williams VanBrackle. He lived most of his life in Cook County, was a member of Adel United Methodist Church, and was a retired control engineer for his process control service. He also served his country honorably in the United States Navy as an engineman during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. VanBrackle is survived by his loving wife, Sandra VanBrackle of Lenox; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Bonny VanBrackle of Lenox; a daughter, Karen VanBrackle of Lenox; five grandchildren: Taylor VanBrackle of Lenox, Skyler VanBrackle of Lenox, Jaculyn VanBrackle of Valdosta, Jotham VanBrackle of Lenox and Jennipher VanBrackle of Lenox; and numerous cousins. In addition to his patrents, Mr. VanBrackle was preceded in death by his brother, Richard VanBrackle.
The family received friends Friday November 6, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service was held Saturday November 7, 2015 at Adel United Methodist Church at 2 PM with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment followed at Crossroads Church Cemetery. Mike VanBrackle, Greg Henderson, Lyn Pickle, Jack Howell, Nick Griffin and John Zaciewski served as pallbearers. Dr. Mary Sue Ward sang "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" and the Adel United Methodist Church Chancel Choir sang "It Is Well With My Soul"; Beth Penn played the organ. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Adel United Methodist Church (214 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, GA 31620) or to the Alzheimer's Association (315 W. 2nd St.; Tifton, GA 31794).
