Mrs. Hautense "Tense" Martin Coppage, 86, of Adel, Georgia passed away December 26, 2014 at the Cook Senior Living Center. She was born in Berrien County on November 14, 1928 to the late Comer James Outlaw and Bessie Lee Luke Outlaw. Mrs. Coppage lived most of her life in Cook County and had been a long time member of the Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Adel and was currently a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Hahira, Georgia. Mrs. Coppage was a homemaker and care taker.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa M. Engel of Sharpsburg, Georgia and six grandchildren: Darren Martin of Quitman, Georgia; David Martin of Greenville, Tennessee; Daniel Martin of Mill Hall, Pennsylvania; Dee Dee Griswold of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania; Patrick Engel of Birdsborrow, Pennsylvania and Jason Engel of Decatur, Georgia. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Martin; her second husband, Ray Coppage; and a son, Vernon Martin.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel. Visitation was conducted before the service on Sunday from 12:30 until 1:45 at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. Adel, Georgia. Condolences may be expressed online at www.boonefunerals.com.
