Mr. Mathis is survived by his daughter, Lisa Dianne Kieffer and Nick Johnson of Tifton, Georgia; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Corby and Beckie Lawler of Adel, Georgia; two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Kristie and Andy Bruner of Tifton, and Kayla and Charles Singletary of Ochlocknee, Georgia; twelve grandchildren: Austin Kieffer, Justin Kieffer, and Davin Forbes, all of Tifton, Tabatha Carson of Adel, Jason Jobe, Jr. of Commerce, Georgia, Donnis Warren and Fred Warren of Adel, Alexia Bruner and Andrew Bruner of Tifton, Whitney Singletary, Brandon Singletary, and Ashton Singletary, all of Ochlocknee; two great-grandchildren: Kylie Carson of Adel, and Blakely Jobe of Commerce; and three brothers: Henry "Pete" Mathis of Tifton, C.B. Mathis of Ft. Valley, Georgia, and Bobby Mathis of Enigma, Georgia.
The family of Mr. Mathis received friends Wednesday evening May 28, 2014 from 6 until 8 pm at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. At 8 pm, immediately following the visitation, a funeral service for Mr. Mathis was held in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. N.C. Spradley officiating. Special selections played at the service were "Amazing Grace" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain." In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Mathis was cremated and his cremains ineterred at Lenox City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com .
