Mr. Isaac "Dale" Odale Caldwell, 71, of Adel, Georgia, passed away January 12, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. He was born on May 27, 1944 in Kiahsville, West Virginia to his late parents, Arthur and Leurie Browning Caldwell. He lived in Adel since 1987 and was retired from the sheet metal industry where he enjoyed working with United McGill of Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his loving wife, Janie S. Caldwell of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dallas and Lynda Caldwell of Panama City, Florida, and Terry and Kathi Tillman of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law: Cheryl and Gary Lackey of West Virginia, and Sherry Tillman Mittelmann and David Mittelmann of Bell, Florida; five grandchildren: Melia Rose Followay, Gary Lackey Jr., Johnce Lackey, Sebrina Lackey, all of West Virginia, and T. and Melissa Tillman of Baldwin, Florida; brother and sister-in-law: Ossie and Carol Caldwell of East Lynn, West Virginia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Cathy Shaw of Douglas, Georgia; sister-in-law, Barbara Dietrich of Littleton, Colorado, devoted nephew, Basil Duncan; a very special child friend, Chase Smith; and special cat "Tiger" and special poodle "Jan". He was preceded in death by his grandson, Arthur Lackey.
The family received friends Thursday January 14, 2016 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home. The funeral service took place Friday January 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Minister Bill Shaw officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Special selections played at the service were "Amazing Grace", "In the Garden" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain". Dallas Caldwell, Hank Smith, Basil Tillman, T. Tillman, Paul Turner and Doug Hanks served as active pallbearers; Lin Parrish served as an honorary pallbearer.
