Mrs. Jackie Chafin Shierling, 74 of Adel, Georgia passed away on July 29, 2026 at the Legacy Village in Tifton, Georgia.  She was born in Colquitt County to the late Thomas Eugene "Tom" Chafin and the late Vera Weaver Chafin.  Mrs. Shierling lived most of her life in Cook County and was retired from the Williams Investment Company.  She was a member of Springhead Baptist Church.

      Mrs. Shierling is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law: Marcie and Clint Bush of Sparks, Georgia, and Bonni and Justin Young of Adel; three grandchildren: Brody Young and Harlee Young of Adel, and Vera Cate Bush of Sparks; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Patsy and Darrell Waites, and Tomilyn Wheeler, all of Norman Park, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Kay S. Courson of Adel; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Scott "Scotty" Shierling, Jr.

      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Springhead Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating. The graveside service will follow at Sparks City Cemetery and will be officiated by Mr. Michael Chafin.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church prior to the funeral service.  Pallbearers will be Dylan Wheeler, Zac Wheeler, Glen Chafin, Clay Shierling, Dennis Harrell, Snuffy Smith, Jerry Edwards, Ralph Smith and Terry Permenter.  The Williams Investment Company will serve as honorary pallbearers.  Lajuana Chafin will play piano; Dawn Boone, Cindy Ensley and Shari Spearman will sing "Surely the Presence"; Michael Chafin will sing "Beulah Land"; and a recording of "I'll Fly Away" will be played at the service.  Congregational singing of "Amazing Grace" will take place at the graveside.
