Mr. Jake Willis, 75, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on July 1, 2018 at his daughter's home in Fleming Island, Florida.  He was born on February 1, 1943 in Lowndes County to the late Randall and Linnie Miley Willis.  He lived in Jacksonville, Florida for 30 years before moving to Valdosta 12 years ago.  Mr. Willis was of the Primitive Baptist Faith and was a retired produce manager for a grocery store.

Mr. Willis is survived by his loving wife, Betty Lou O'Quinn Willis of Valdosta; two sons and daughters-in-law: David and Cindy Vedas of Valdosta, Jon and Debbie Vedas of Middleburg, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Jerry Pye of Fleming Island, Florida; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Sally Culpepper of Stockton, Georgia, Sue Petty of Ray City, Georgia and Nancy Bonnel of Dillon, South Carolina; and a special cousin, Nick Baker of Orange Park, Florida.  He was preceded in death a son, Kevin Vedas.

A graveside funeral service will take place at 12:30 PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Pleasant Cemetery in Berrien County.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:30 AM until noon at Boone Funeral Home North (202 N. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel) prior to going to the graveside.  Elder Dwight Marshall will officiate and Mr. Jon Vedas will provide the eulogy.  Jon Vedas, Jerry Pye, Jon Michael Vedas, Austin Tyler, David Vedas and George Bonnel will serve as pallbearers.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com .  --Boone Funeral Home of Adel has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
