Mrs. Janet Spradley Gaskins, age 75, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away on September 8, 2024, at her home after a brief illness. She was born in Norman Park, Georgia, to the late Ethridge and Kathryn Hiers Spradley. Mrs. Gaskins lived most of her life in Cook County where she lovingly served her family as a homemaker; she especially enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, baking, and sewing. She spoiled her grandchildren and blessed them by giving them the best of her time and talents.

Mrs. Gaskins is survived by her children: John and Amy Gaskins, Lea and Donald Hazel, and Gary and Wendy Gaskins; grandchildren: Carter Hazel, Taylor Hazel, Katie and Manny Rangel, Skylar Gaskins and fiancée Abby Henderson, Walker Hazel, Garrison Gaskins, and Kallie Gaskins; great-grandchildren: Iris Rangel, Scarlett Rangel, and Emery Rangel; her brothers, Paul Spradley and Tommy (Barbara) Spradley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Gaskins, and their daughter, Amanda Kathryn Gaskins, as well as her brothers: Robert Spradley, Buddy Spradley, and Hilton Spradley.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gaskins were held at 4:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home Chapel, Hwy 41 South, Adel, with Rev. Brad McVea and Rev. Doug Tolson officiating, Lea Hazel gave the eulogy. Interment followed at Staunton cemetery. Visitation took place at the chapel two hours prior to the funeral services. Jennifer Daughtrey sang "Come to Jesus" and "Because He Lives" at the service. Active pallbearers were Skylar Gaskins, Walker Hazel, Garrison Gaskins, Manny Rangel, James Spradley and Chris Barker.
