Mrs. Janet Smith, 72, of Hahira, Georgia passed away at her home August 15, 2026. She was born December 30, 1953 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Howard Elmer Drawdy and the late Geneva Parker Drawdy. Mrs. Smith moved to Lowndes County 31 years ago. She attended Massee Baptist Church and was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was retired from the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia, after 30 years of service.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Jerry Smith of Hahira; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brad Smith of Hahira, Josh and Marissa Smith of Bethesda, Maryland; two grandchildren: Jean Marie Smith of Bethesda and Parker Smith of Hahira; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Michael Hollifield of Sparks, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Roy Nave of Adel, Georgia; aunt and uncle, Melba and Stanley Daniels of Lenox, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Steve Drawdy; and two sisters, Teresa Nave and Ann Poulos.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Boone Funeral Home; 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia, prior to the funeral services.
