Obituary

Mr. Jimmy L. "Joe" Miley, age 75, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away on December 31, 2024 at Tift Regional Medical Center of Tifton, Georgia.  Mr. Miley was born in Rochelle, Georgia on August 16, 1949 to the late Wilbur Lee Miley and the late Grace Lou Holland Miley.  He lived most of his life in Cook County and was a member of Lenox Christian Fellowship.  Mr. Miley was the owner and operator of Adel Starter and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

Mr. Miley is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Call Miley of Sparks; two daughters and two sons-in-law: April and Keith Weeks of Lenox, Georgia and Jenny and Buck Varnadoe of Omega, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Kathryn and Hunter Burnett, Tyler and Hallie Weeks, Laura and Zach Rentz, Amber Weeks (and honorary grandson, Jesse Davis), Brittany and Alex Seigler, Bud and Madison Varnadoe, Sara and Skyler Smith; five great grandchildren; two brothers: George Louis Miley of Jacksonville, Florida and Tommy Miley of Tifton; two sisters: Polly Spikes of Enigma and Cindy Kilgore of Valdosta, Georgia.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Lee Varnadoe; five brothers: Fred Miley, Bill Miley, Pete Miley, Bobby "Buddy" Miley and Danny Miley; two sisters, Jean Williams and Ella Mae Warren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Charlene Griffin officiating and a eulogy given by Kathy Green.  Interment followed at Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.  Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel.  Bud Varnadoe, Tyler Weeks, Hunter Burnett, Alex Seigler, Skyler Smith, Zach Rentz, Jesse Davis and Gary Gaskins served as active pallbearers and James Taylor, Richard Varnadoe, Scott Harnage and Ricky Gandy served as honorary pallbearers.  "Far Side Banks of Jordan", "I Want to Stroll Over Heaven With You" and "When I Wake Up to Sleep No More" were played at the service.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to Disabled American Veterans at DAV.org or PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH  45250-0301.
