Mr. John M. "Mickey" Young, 68, of Adel, Georgia, passed away January 29, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born September 16, 1946 in Adel to his late parents, John B. and Frances Louise Griner Young. He lived most of his life in Cook County and was a retired bail bondsman and rental property owner. He was a member of Gordon Avenue Baptist Church.

Mr. Young is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Bennett Young of Adel; a son, Michael Young of Adel; a daughter, Wendy Dawn Young of Tallahassee, Florida; and a sister and brother-in-law, Jimmie Ann and Neil Graham of Panama City, Florida.

A private funeral service was held at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home for Mr. Young with Rev. Wayne Boykin officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn City Cemetery. "Joey" William Wise, Greg Cowart, David Hayes, Terry Hayes, Roger Grant, and Dennis Baldree served as pallbearers. "It Is Well" and "Midnight Cry" were played at the service.
