Mr. Johnny H. Flanders, 72, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away January 12, 2015 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. A lifelong resident of Cook County, he was born in Adel, Georgia on November 25, 1942 to his late parents, John Flanders and Hazel Lucille May Flanders Emeneger. He was a member of Nashville Church of Christ and was a retired truck driver for Trucks, Inc. and Vickers and Sons.
Mr. Flanders is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth Wilkes Flanders of Sparks; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jamie Flanders; his daughters and a son-in-law: Joanie and Tony McCranie, and Elizabeth Sterk, all of Sparks; a special daughter, Cheyel Wilkes of Sparks; seven grandchildren: Jessi Mullis of Tifton, Jaimee Flanders of Cecil, Georgia, Jonathan McCranie of Norfolk, Virginia, Blake Bullard, Colt Raper, Gage Raper, and Jessi Raper, all of Adel; four great-grandchildren: Raegan Mullis, Caiden Bullard, Cohen Bullard, and Morgan Weeks; special step-mother, Nadavah "Sis" Flanders of Adel; two brothers: Hollis Flanders of Tifton and Donnie Flanders of Florida; six sisters: Jean Pafford of Thomasville, Georgia, Ann Taylor of Adel, Cynthia Edens of Douglas, Georgia, Angela Harry of Tifton, Penny Flanders of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Sherry Pearson of Nashville, Georgia; and a special cousin, Wayne "Cuz" Flanders.
In keeping with the wishes of Mr. Flanders, he was cremated. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 3:00 PM at his home, 113 N. Hall Street in Sparks with his family and friends in attendance. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
