Mrs. Karen Spires, 52, of Nashville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday January 10, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. She was born in Adel, Georgia on January 29, 1964 to William Elwood "Bill" Johnson and Lounell Bullard Johnson. She lived all of her life in Cook and Berrien Counties. Many of her family have been members of Community Calvary Holiness Church and she worked as a registered nurse for Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Spires is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Spires; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Matt and Briana Spires, Adam Spires and Ryan Spires; and a grandson, Andrew Flowers, all of Nashville. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Darlow Maxwell of Adel; her mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Elouise and Wayne Ray of Adel; and her furry pet bulldog, Munson. Mrs. Spires was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lounell Johnson; two brothers, Kevin and Dale Johnson; her father-in-law, Charles Spires; and a sister-in-law, Connie Spires.

The Spires family received friends Thursday evening January 12, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service took place Friday January 13, 2017 at 11 AM at Community Calvary Holiness Church in Cook County with Rev. Lawton Watson officiating. Interment followed at Nashville Memorial Gardens. Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette sang "I Call It Home" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain"; the special musical selection, "Prettiest Flowers" was also played at the service. Jeff Bullard, Jody Bullard, Jason Bullard, Glenn Simmons, Greg Wingate and Reavis Griffis served as pallbearers. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
