Mrs. Laries Weeks Browning, 94, of Adel, Georgia passed away on May 9, 2024 at her son's residence in Adel.  Mrs. Browning was born on March 16, 1930 in Cook County to the late John William Weeks and the late Hattie Mae Harris Weeks.  She lived all of her life in Cook County and was retired from ITT, formerly Metal Products.  Mrs. Browning was a member of the Adel Methodist Church for over 70 years.

Mrs. Browning is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Ruth Browning of Adel; her granddaughter, Nikki York of Adel; her grandson, Chris Browning of Portland, Oregon; four great-grandchildren: Clay York of Adel, Jay and Kaitlin York of Panama City, Florida; Katy Browning and Noah Browning, both of Portland, Oregon; one great-great-grandson, Wesley York of Panama City, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur "Jay" Browning; and four brothers: Lessie Weeks, Levis Weeks, Ellis Weeks and Leon Perry Weeks.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Adel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Doug Tolson officiating.  Interment followed at the Antioch Church Cemetery.  Clay York, Jay York, Jerry Searcy, David Weeks, Steve Weeks and Jake Weeks served as pallbearers.  Dr. Mary Sue Ward led the congregation in the singing of "When We All Get to Heaven" and "Amazing Grace" and Randy Booth accompanied on organ.  Visitation took place at the church one hour prior to the service.  Flowers were accepted and memorials may be made to the Adel Wesleyan Church; 214 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia 31620.
